To outlive forever
Everyone wants to be immortal. In fact, we do die as do companies. Many autocratic dictators set up regimes with colossal statues and erect monumental buildings to edify themselves. They want to be remembered here and in the afterlife.
Think the pyramids built for pharaohs. Consider Hitler and his thousand-year Reich, buildings festooned with Nazi swastikas. Ponder Saddam Husain erecting his statues and pleasure building destroyed in war.
As with people, so goes companies. We don’t last.
However, if you think strategically, the idea or brand may live on. For over 100 years, Coca-Cola, with its iconic image, has persisted in world memory and imagination as THE American symbol of soft drinks.
You get the idea. Create something useful; Build something inspiring. You outlive the competition. After all, the pyramids themselves have inspired people’s imaginations for over 2,000 years.
